The trademarked motto of MALIK Fraternity, Inc. is “The Mind is the Standard of the Man.” The fraternity's mission is to educate members by imparting to them knowledge of African continental and cultural history, of African Diaspora history (meaning the voluntary and involuntary movement of Africans and their descendants to various parts of the world during the modern and pre-modern periods), of fraternal history, including fraternal literature and publications, and special study materials, in order to help them understand their role and responsibilities as men of African ancestry. It is the duty of MALIK Fraternity, Inc. to educate the general public, particularly communities of color, about the interconnectedness of peoples of African ancestry and the understanding that the emancipation, development and prosperity of African and Afro-Latino peoples everywhere can only be achieved by an appeal to the African sense of "wholeness." This mission especially includes the service and education of the communities our members come from through socially responsible activism, advocacy, and programmatic endeavors that impact members' educational, political, and spiritual development.
